Donations to help victims of Hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Maria, as well as the earthquake in Mexico, are now being accepted.  Please make checks payable to St. John's Church with the notation "Disaster Relief" on the memo line.  A special second collection will be taken taken at all Masses October 7-8.  Proceeds will go to Catholic Charities USA or Catholic Relief Services.

Special prayers to Our Lady of Fatima were offered at the end of each Mass on Saturday, May 13th, which began six months of devotions in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Mary's apparitions in Fatima.  A plenary indulgence may be obtained if you participate in a devotion on the 13th of any of the next months between now and October before an image of Our Lady of Fatima, such as one which will be solemnly placed in our church, and also say an Our Father and Creed on the same day.  The normal conditions for confession and communion within a month of the devotion must also be observed.  The plenary indulgence, which grants a full remission of the temporal punishment due to sin, may be applied to one self or to someone deceased.

Adults seeking entrance into the Catholic Church from other denominations or no denomination, as well as adult Catholics who have not received First Penance, First Communion, or Confirmation, are invited to contact Deacon Jim or Fr. Jonathan about the process known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  The formation program is held on Sunday mornings throughout the year in English and in Spanish.  Inquiries are always welcome.  The unbaptized may enter the two-year cycle at any time.  The already baptized must begin between October and November for sacraments the following Spring.

Our parish provides support groups for moms and for dads of children with disabilities, and celebrates an Inclusive Family Mass on the first Sunday of each month - October through June - at 1:30pm.  Our Religious Education program also provides religious instruction and sacramental preparation for children with disabilities.  Contact Deacon Jim at the rectory or Rosemarie Flood at the Religous Education Office for more information.
