Carnival Committee Help create, coordinate and implement the annual Carnival to work toward greater financial security for the parish.

Finance Council An appointed council advises the pastor on financial matters affecting the parish. As an integral part of the church, this council is concerned with the planning, reviewing and monitoring of budgets, fund raising, and proper maintenance and upkeep of the church property.

Golden Age Club This group is a Seniors' Social Club whose members participate in trips, bingo, and other activities. They meet the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at 1 p.m. in the cafeteria of Conlon Hall from September through June.

Home and School Association The parents and teachers promote the education and well-being of the students in our co-sponsored parochial school Transfiguration Academy, at home, in school, and in the community.

Jovenes de Jesus This bilingual youth charismatic prayer group meets on Friday evenings for prayer and fellowship. The group has currently suspended meetings while undergoing a reorganization.

Knights of Columbus St. John's Council #1345 is a religious, fraternal,and charitable organization with programs supporting the Church, family, youth and community. It is the fourth largest in the state of New Jersey. For information call 201-387-9750

Rainbows for all God's Children This program provides non-sectarian aid for pre-school and school-age children whose parents have separated or divorced, or died. Sessions begin in September. The program is held at St. John's Parish Life Center on Mondays at 5:00 - 6:00 pm. This group is currently inactive.

The Rosary Society Rosarians are dedicated to the Blessed Mother and pledge to follow her example of service. This group meets the first Monday of each month in Conlon Hall.

School Advisory Board This group of parents and non-parents serve on a board as an advisory and representative body for the purpose of developing and adapting policy subject to the approval of the Pastor and the Principal of Transfiguration Academy.

Scouting Programs Scouting is a program which provides a child and his/her family with the opportunity to discover and grow mentally, physically, and spiritually.

St. John's Boy Scout Troop 139 The Tiger Scouts, Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts of Troop 139 participate in a variety of activities, including camping trips and service projects. Boy Scouts meet on Tuesday nights and Cub Scouts on Friday nights.

Senior Citizens Club A non-sectarian club for Seniors ages 50+ whose members enjoy luncheons, educational information sessions, lectures, performances, trips, and parties. This group has now been merged with a group at the St. Mary's Apartments in Dumont.

Trustees Trustees are designated members of the parish as a legal entity.

Volunteer Maintenance Committee This group of volunteers provides services for improving all of our parish buildings, such as: patching holes in walls and ceilings, painting, decorating, etc. These services satisfy the time and talent portion of our Stewardship program.
